Born and raised in the South Puget Sound and spend my college years and early 20’s in Seattle proper. The thought of getting the average 20-something Seattleite up to speed on actually playing the game of baseball is massively comical and gave me a good long chuckle. That being said, I commend you for making the effort. But $180 for a hitting net? Do you hate money or are you that loaded? My two sons each hit off a tee into the nets linked below 2 to 3 times a week from early April through mid October and hit about 60 to 80 balls per session. These nets will last indefinitely if you don't leave them out in the elements. There are more productive uses of your baseball budget money than a hitting net. Put a little bit of weight on the front legs if it tips over. I use a bag of sand because our nets stay up in our driveway. You could probably just toss someones backpack on one of the legs at practices and be fine. Inexpensive 7x7 baseball net for tee work. If you havent purchased the tee get a Tanner tee off Amazon. I have tried to cut corners here like with the nets, but it just doesnt work out. For baseballs, search “blem baseballs” and dont spend more than $55/dozen delivered. Ideally you are looking to get them for less than $50/dozen delivered. Or you can get the yellow dimpled machine pitch balls for less than $40/dozen.
