Yes exactly. You set up homeassist or open hab in VM and buy one of these little dongles for 20 bucs. Then pass the dongle through to the VM and boom devices. You can set up automations for times, conditions, weather, etc. or just set up scenes and get some buttons. I use my phone mostly but I also have the tablet that is split in half between music and light switches. Then I have a little 4 button scene remote to turn on 4 rooms that i can carry. The Ikea DIRIGERA is their Matter line. I use Zigbee which is similar but Ikea killed their zigbee lineup in favor of Matter over thread. I still prefer Zigbee so I switched to Third Reality Devices on amazon.
