Nothing is famous for slow transfer speeds. The only thing that affects your transfer speeds is how your network is setup and what media you are using. You don't need 10Gbe considering that hard drives arent gonna write that fast unless you have alot of them. I will say this, DO NOT buy a DAS that has the same amount of bays as you have hard drives. ALWAYS have room for expansion, you dont want to be fucked over because you dont have room and need more space. Also always have a spare drive and actual backups as raid is not a backup yottamaster das this would be great for you
