Apparently various QNAP NAS boxen will work with a UPS when connected to one, although I think their compatibility list isn't 100% correct. You'd need one with a dedicated USB/serial port for connecting to a PC for monitoring, which rules out most of the smaller ones available these days (which have USB charging ports, but not communication ports); you're likely looking at a 750VA UPS or higher to get the port you'd need, plus a few bucks for a cable unless it's bundled with the UPS. At a minimum, you probably just want to factor in at least $100 for one unless you can catch a sale. On the bright side, if you're only going to have a couple of small items that don't use a lot of power plugged into it, a UPS at that level should have no problems keeping them on for ten minutes or longer (let alone if you go HAM and get a beefy UPS in the 1500VA range, but at that point the question becomes whether having a 25-to-40lb. block on your floor to keep your NAS and router up for an hour or so is worth it).
