This is pretty involved when most people just want to throw them in and press "Go." But I resigned to the fact that it does take some effort to get great fries, so I'm doing them in a fryer filled with tallow. Straight from the freezer into the hot oil, and I have some of the best fries I've ever tasted! Of course the cleanup isn't fun, but this nifty fryer reduces the cleanup to a single dishwasher load and also strains your oil for reuse using one of these. I still use my air fryer for other foods, but this is THE WAY for golden, crispy great tasting fries!
