I would suggest no more than 150Mbps for 4k120 (the default is 113). The only reason to go higher is if you have a very high end host GPU and want to stream in 4:4:4, which doubles the bitrate. Whenever you raise your bitrate, be sure it doesn't also raise your host processing latency or decode time. Sending so much data over the network stresses everything in the chain and is an easy way to add unnecessary latency. Sometimes people think that if their system can handle a simple speed test it means they should have no problem streaming at 500Mbps. Down this road lies madness. Re: USB, I use this USB-C ethernet cable with my MBP, it's a solid performer but the USB side can get a bit hot and the USB plug isn't the most secure and can get disconnected too easily. There is probably a cable that solves both of those problems, but I use a short extension cable to work around both of those issues.
