I use a third reality smart plug (https://a.co/d/00bbSOvw) which has a timer power on/off built in. I reboot modem first, wait 30 secs, then have it turn off the router outlet. The smart outlet turns back on after a few minutes which by then the modem should be cycled. I use a ping entity to check 8.8.8.8 for connectivity.
