I did it with black ink to replace HP 65 ink on a 3700. Here’s the listing I used although it’s now defunct. It was very easy. I used nitrile gloves as a precaution but it didn’t get messy at all. Some background: these ink cartridges are just plastic casing with a cotton like sponge inside. All you’re doing is taking a syringe, filling it with ink, then using an old used up cartridge you take the top label off revealing a hole easily pierced with the syringe and you’re dispensing the necessary amount of ink to rewet it. I’ve only done this with black ink. I can guess that color is a bit more complicated. But it’s very easy. I print a few times a week and it’s been 5 months since I last did it. My printer is also older so it doesn’t do any checks. The supply I got for 10$ will last me YEARS. And I’ll just keep the same cartridge over and over. Your only risk here is mess which is easily mitigated. It took 5 minutes
