26" x 14" Wooden Lap Desk - $209 - Note, I've had similar setups on desks Like this too. This desk is the maximum that'll fit between the arms of my chair. The weight helps a lot for stability but the lighter one was pretty stable too. Gladiator NXT EVO with SCG Premium Right Grip $139 Gladiator NXT EVO Omni Throttle - Left Hand $149 GNX MFH Multi-Functional Holder $18 GNX THQ Throttle Quadrant $79 GNX USB Controller HID-Main $13.50 STECS STEM Standard Throttle Extension Module $47.50 Streamdeck XL $250 Belkin 7-Port USB 2.0 Hub Industrial Strength Velcro Roll 2" wide $21 Note: Last I looked VKB still has an active coupon code "Karolinger" for a minor discount. Note that the GNX modules in the center are just that, modular, they can be put together and linked up in all sorts of setups so there's no need to do this exactly. I mostly went with this setup because I had the STEM and wasn't using it. I almost used a GNX SEM modules, but I didn't do it because it looked pretty similar to the STEM. I could add the SEM next to the THQ but then it's a tight fit and I'd have to put the sticks wider, assuming I'd even have enough room. Also something like this 7" budget tablet for $97 fits easily where the StreamDeck is. The 8.1 size of that also fits but it's it's very tight fit and can't be put beneath the STEM module. Also there's no reason you couldn't do this with their gunfighter joysticks instead. That'd give you the ability to hot swap grips. You also get smoother action on the base though you lose the base buttons. I'd been planning to give this a try as I haven't been using the gunfighters I have for the cockpit much. That said the GNX Gladiator is more than enough stick for 99% of people. The grips between them are identical it's only the base that is different. I' Also when putting down velcro on a lapboard to mount components, use the soft side on the board and mount the hook side to the components you want to mount. You don't want to be resting your hands on the hook side of velcro. This is a pretty secure mounting setup, I can leave all those components with the board 90 degrees vertical and they will stay in place. When I moved those gladiators from an old lapboard I had to this one I needed to use a wrench to pry them off the board. The key is surface area. The more surface area contact you have, the more secure it is, but you can get a pretty good lockup with surprisingly little contact areas. When the velcro's new it can take a little wiggling to get it to open up and make a good connection.
