THANK YOU for posting this. I've reached out over the years since getting my autowinder and started having this issue after the last time I had to send it in. (I had really messed up the insides and it had to be rebuilt.) I asked for an updated motor and it drains the batteries SO FAST and I also have this flyer sticking to one side. I reached out about it and they said "This is a symptom of fiber or debris wrapped around the worm gear in the area between the motor housing and the traveling carriage." which I never found evidence of fiber being there. I've made it bright blue so I can easily see it and just make a lot more frequent breaks. It's slowly driving me nuts. I also noticed when the led light goes out but everything still works I'll start having this issue Regarding what I see in this thread, I'm probably gonna pick up some rechargeables. Likely these if you need a rec: I'm likely picking up these USB C kind
