shoes never touch the inside of my house lol Smart man! That's a habit I picked up in adulthood, and I look back earlier in life with disgust at what I used to do with street shoes. My parents were crazy. Floors stay so much cleaner now! Since you seem interested, I'll offer some other habits of mine. I'm not trying to tell anyone else what to do, just describing what I personally do. Avoid anything at the range that would require me to touch my mouth or ingest anything. Wash hands thoroughly as soon as I step off the line. Thankfully, my range has chelating soap available right outside the lanes. I always have D-Lead wipes in my gear, in case I shoot somewhere else. As soon as I get home, I strip off the clothes I wore to the range, and put them in the washing machine with some D-Lead detergent. Then I hop straight in the shower - no hugs for the wife or kid - and use D-Lead body wash: not just on my hands/arms, but my face/head/neck. As of this year, I've been using a hard case instead of a soft case for my guns, because it's infinitely easier to wipe down and decontaminate. Even so, that's another item I leave in the garage, because it rolls around on the range floor and I don't feel like doing a full decon every trip. I have no affiliation with D-Lead, despite linking multiple of their products. It just seems like they have the biggest market presence. Am I going overboard? Maybe. But I spend a lot of time at the indoor range, and my last blood lead level was low enough that it was even below the CDC's reference level for children. The amount of money I spend on D-Lead products is nothing compared to what I spend on ammo, and the time I spend on the above habits is worth the peace of mind.
