A soft cat harness is much better and safer for leash training kitties! A few months ago, someone posted here about their cat whose collar got stuck in his mouth, like yours did, and broke the cat's jaw. Recovery was difficult and long-- don't let this happen to your baby. I recommend reading The Zen of Cat Walking or another book or resource on leash-training cats.
