The metal clamp style found in all commercial gyms are terrible. I've always bought these $15ish type of collars off Amazon and they've been just fine for keeping the weight in place for S/B/D. If your pocket is burning and you want to spend double the $, Lockjaw-brand collars kept the weight in place in that famous clip of the bar bending around Joe Sullivan.
