I liked this book a lot, it's specifically intended for "seasoned" individuals: https://www.amazon.com/Barbell-Prescription-Strength-Training-After/dp/0982522770 Now, it does advocate heavier weights than your daughter is suggesting, and I apologize for going off-base in that way. I don't know anything about your physical/medical history, so I can't say for sure that heavier or lighter is better for you, but I find this book and the suggested programs to be pretty good and very adaptable. See if you can get the book through your library (in their collection or via interlibrary loan), and see whether it sound like something you'd benefit from.
