I honestly don't need much storage - my Pixel 10a is currently at 76/128GB. And probably 8GB of that is porn & naughty pixs of the Wife, and another 11GB is local MP3 music, with another 2GB in podcast episodes. If I ever do need more storage, I keep a 256GB USB-C flash drive on my keychain. Now for transparency, I do have 12GB of photos that I have off-loaded from my phone to Google cloud storage. I also have a NAS at home, but that's just the local backup of all my family's cloud-sync. Last time I had SD storage was when I moved from Moto G5s Plus to a Pixel 5a. I honestly didn't need the SD storage even then - it was more of a mindset thing. My thinking prefers 'cold storage' items to be elsewhere than the active storage medium. (I do this on PC as well: main drive is reserved for the OS & apps, 2nd drive for games, 3rd drive for downloads, scratch projects, misc usage & general storage) Once I adapted my thinking to just one large storage pool, organized by folders instead of individual drives, phone storage never bothered me again.
