Don't give up on quitting. Keep trying. It was the hardest thing for me and I tried and failed over and over again. BUT I'm that was almost 30 years ago and I can assure you, it's worth all the effort it takes to quit. What finally worked for me - I had to address all the ways I played with cigs while smoking and my breathing. SO I found ball point pens specifically this kind worked great. if you look at that picture, you'll see a little hole in the side of the pen....that's enough to make dragging on it simulate a real cig. I would take the cap off, pop out the little plastic stopper at the end of it and the treat it like it was a real cig. I would hold it in my hands, twill it, tap it, whatever I did with a cig, I did with that. When I wanted a drag, I would suck on that open end like it was a real cig, then inhale like I would if I were smoking, the blow it out just like I was smoking. I never lit it on fire.....just used it to simulate all the ways I played with cigs while smoking them....so that when a craving would hit, I'd smoke a pen instead. And the fucking shit worked!! For the nicotine addiction I used the patch while using a pen to simulate a smoking session. I used to smoke a lot while watching TV so sure enough, I kept the pen close by and an ashtry and would smoke that pen whenever I had a craving. It's the final thing that helped me quit and stay quit.....after awhile the cravings slowly started going away and I didn't need it as much. After a few more months I didn't need it at all. Coming up on 30 years off cigs......thank GOD!! Good luck
