Some rats are not wire biters at all so don't be too afraid of this possibility You can absolutely sequester certain spaces off to keep your stuff safe. At that age, they are less chaotic and less ambitious about jumping too You would be doing a very good and kind thing for the 1.5 yr rats. Even if 1 ends up alone and you don't want more, at 2 years or so it will be/could be close to the end of life for them and if you have kids, they won't feel as alone . It's your call but I think you can try to give these rattos a good final year or so in life.
