Yes! If you have a USB-C port on the iPad, you can absolutely plug the DAC straight into it. Then plug in the speaker's 1/8" stereo jack to the DAC. They sell the same FiiO KA11 DAC on Amazon, if you'd prefer to shop there. They're plug-'n-play. So, no software/installations required, and they work right out of the box. I've used DACs on all of my USB-C devices that don't have a 1/8" audio output jack, and it provides me a hi-res signal that I can connect to my amplifiers/headphones/EQ's/etc.
I had the same thought after ordering mine a little over a year ago. I was sold on them working with Lossless Audio on Apple Music but then realized that it needed to be through usb-c and that yeah; that connection is very very quiet and dull. I ended up just using them through Bluetooth and just get by with them from time to time. I’m no audiophile by any means but I saw a mini DAC by Fiio for $33; and boy did this little dongle make these cans shine. Again I’ve never tried high end audio equipment but I’ve read reviews before. For the first time I understood what people meant by having a “wider sound stage”. I love my Studio Pros with this dongle. It unfortunately will eat up battery on both ends (audio source/headphones), but I can hear everything at even 25% volume clearly. I don’t think that I’ll ever need something more than this but I do suggest at least trying it out and then returning it if you don’t care for it but trust when I say you’re gonna wanna keep using them with the wire.
Best value and tons of power vs alternatives is the FiiO KA11. Next step up if you need more power and balanced is the FiiO KA3. https://a.co/d/0cVbAYoS
