I started small with a wired adjustable shelves cart: https://i.ibb.co/58XqkL2/IMG-20201129-173849473.jpg Then slowly evolved to this: https://i.ibb.co/dcvPFpx/Image1bbb.jpg And that was many years ago. Today my tower is a bit messier and more complicated. These days I use it mostly to play, watch movies and music concerts and play old music CDs (or stream video to the xbox 360). Instead of the bag you see in the photo, I use a bigger cylindrical plastic bin where I put all my controllers. When I want to play atari 2600 or another system, I bring out a portable table and set it in front of the TV. The item is a "Honey-Can-Do 3-Shelf Portable Multimedia Cart". Sold on Amazon. Initially bought one, then about a year or two later, I bought another one for the extra wire shelves and a different taller stand with matching longer legs. I bought heavy duty caster wheels. Initially I bought thin shelf liners, but I also had a spare piece PVC sheet from another project, which I cut a few panels for my tower of gaming. For cabling management I use velcro ties and the wired shelves let you attach everything any way you want it. For power I bought this power strip: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0982XSQDSIt's attached to the back of the stand with twist ties. Works great. If I hadn't installed a home theater system, my setup would be a lot simpler, but I don't regret it. It sounds awesome.
