I think it must not be too uncommon on the diverge frame for some body types to have this issue.I'm 6'0, specialized site said 56cm. Bike shop agreed. I test rode it and it seemed comfortable, but 10-15 minutes isn't the same as 2-3 hours. Several long rides in, and I'm consistently having shoulder pain (from being too stretched out) and lower back strain after riding (from being bent over a bit too far). I tried a shorter stem 60mm. It didn't bring the bars close enough. I ended up with a minimum length stem - this fixed a lot of my reach issue.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B616F9XZ(I did have to buy a spacer for the stem to make this one fit as it's not a specialized brand stem.) I still noticed that I felt really bent over, and after measuring, my bars were 2" (50mm) lower than my seat (where I need it for proper leg angles/power/comfort). I played with my seat position some, but couldn't lock in anything that resolved the issue. I looked around for solutions and ended up dropping some money on some Redshift topshelf narrow flare bars. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DH5BJS27I bought the 70mm rise version instead of the 50, because my bike had 3 risers on the stem when I bought it.I ended up taking two risers out and took it on a two day tour a couple weeks ago. It felt sooooo much better. I also bought some gel for the bars, since I was going to need to wrap them anyways. (added comfort) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000QSXYHM I know that's a lot of info, but I'm telling you, this stuff changed me from wondering if I bought the wrong size bike, to loving it. It stinks dropping another $200+ on parts after you already bought a new bike, but I'm happy with the results. There are lots of adjustment points on a bike to tailor fit. It sounds like you know what you're looking for, now you just have to make some adjustments to get there.
