Okay sorry I this is going to be a lot of words sorry if I give too much detail please feel free to ask for more details. I took a 4 pin connector like this, for the chassis side I ran one cable and used a "vampire clip" to tap into the turn signal wires (tape them tightly afterwards). In my NB1 they run through a channel behind the passenger seat that runs between the body and fuel tank to the trunk. Remove the rear parcel shelf carpet and that metal aluminum cover beneath it, you will see the harness run back through the channel. You're also gonna wanna remove the trunk carpet in this area and trace your cables back to the turn signals. Vampire clip into each cable and wire to the plug, I tapped into them right where they ran through the channel to keep the runs short. As you can see from the pics my original 3rd brake light is covered so I just ran the original wire back to another one of the remaining wires on the plug. If you wanna keep your original brake light I would vampire clip into that wire as well. Your wiring friend may not like vampire clips but he will understand to tap into the wires with however he wants. Last wire is gonna be a ground, I ran this directly to the chassis. I tucked this plug into that little pocket under the parcel carpet behind the passengers right shoulder but be aware your rain rail drains there so make sure it's held out of where water may pool if you are using your soft top. Okay for the hardtop/light side I used this light but it looks out of stock but that's a good idea of size and specs at least. You can search for truck tailgate, golf cart, or side by side brake lights and find lots. It will either be standard trailer wiring or come with its own wiring guide. Ran this to the other side of the plug to match blinkers brake light and ground. I ran the wire between the hardtop and rear glass, making sure to not wedge it hard and then used the 3m back the light came with to stick it to the lip under the rear glass. I used the 2 bolts to line it up center between. Overall it's pretty simple and you can't see it unless it's on. The light I got flashed the edges of the brake light when first pressed. I don't really love that it does that so just another heads up when looking for tail lights.
