I see you’re getting some good replies, I have a little bit of practical advice to add. I’m on my second round of stomach cancer (still in my 40s), and I’ve learned a few tricks along the way. If you don’t already have them, get some (very big) reusable bed pads like these. They are genuinely waterproof. But still not sweaty, because the top fabric is very comfortable. The little rubber grip dots on the back really work, so the pad doesn’t move around much during the night. You can toss them right in the wash & dryer, and reuse them as many times as you want, to do whatever you want. I’ve even used them for impromptu mini picnics, in front of the TV. My dog used to love laying on them. Stains come out surprisingly well even if they’ve been sitting, overnight. When you have an accident in the middle of the night, it’s wonderful to not have to remake your bed, you just take off the bed pad, and replace it with a fresh, clean (and dry) bed pad.
