I live in Atlanta as well and this stuff works great. Go lighter on the application since it’s hot out. Drive XLR8 EDIT: Sorry just read that you’re renting. Get a bottle of this and see if it works. Quinclorac is the herbicide that kills crabgrass. Drive XLR8 has 18% and this Ortho stuff has only 2%. I'm in Austin too. DO NOT just put weed barrier and gravel. It will grow through within a week. You still have lots of Bermuda there. Mow as short as your mower allows and scalp the crap out of this so your grass can get sun & outgrow the weeds. Once you have some decent green in your grass spray the area with this and you're good.
