If you're looking around, this group has many posts like yours so I suggest doing a little research here to learn what are your options and what equipment others have used. You gave no specifics on the equipment you have so it will be impossible to give a specific reply. In general a soundbar is perfectly fine for playing the karaoke music, but it was never designed to handle the audio peaks generated when singing. You risk damaging the sound bar. Yes, a digital mixer configured correctly could protect the soundbar, but you don't and won't have any idea if the settings are correct or not. And if you look at the cost of digital mixer with those features, you probably would be better off buying a new soundbar if you blow it out.
