I eventually wound up with their slightly more advanced model. I can't remember my exact thought processes as I am almost certain the less expensive one would have been more than adequate for my limited needs. I works well in terms of mounting my external drives and providing power to the ones that have no external power source. I did have a dumb moment when it wasn't working and it was because I had plugged it into the computer but hadn't plugged it into the wall electrical source. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DPKL911T?ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details&th=1
I just got this one last month - it has various ports and per the specifications also can be used as a charger. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DPKL911T?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1
I have a Thunderbolt hub which doesn't have any USB-A ports As I wrote it has USB-A4 which doesn't seem to be the same as USB-A. My hub - OWC Thunderbolt 5 Hub https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DPKL911T?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1
I just went through this because I have a number of externals and not enough ports in my iMac as there are only 4 I also needed a powered hub as some of my external drives don't have their own power connections As suggested I wound up with an OWC Thunderbolt - it was $150 so it wasn't the most expensive model but is sufficient for my needs. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DPKL911T?ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details&th=1
