I have a similar fishbowl window that you’re describing - I covered it with privacy film like this one https://a.co/d/0aS2RAnv It sticks just with some water and static cling and peels off without leaving a residue, so it doesn’t violate my university’s policy about not altering their property (eg technically I couldn’t screw a curtain rod into the wall, although I’ve definitely still hung pictures up with nails and no one has noticed or cared). My window provides enough natural light that I only turn the lights on when it gets dark at so horrifically early in the winter. I’m on a heavily trafficked hallway and I pretty much never think about whether someone is looking for light to see if I’m there. I’d personally take the view.
