We did the same idea, but with this one: https://a.co/d/0cS862Pi. Our Nanit at home is nicer, but this one is very easy to set up and we don’t have to worry about having a network. We have a bag for it where we also keep a nightlight and a sound machine, and it had made travel pretty smooth with our kid.

I have this hello baby monitor https://a.co/d/00qO4daX. Tilts 120 degrees and pans 355 degrees. No wifi connectivity, no stupid app, no subscriptions, just a wireless 2.4ghz connection directly to the monitor. Turn it on, it connects in like 3 seconds to the screen and you can manually move the camera with buttons on the screen. It has night vision, and it doesn't make any noise when the camera is moving.
