My soil is heavy on the wood too, though it is about a year or two further along in the composting process. The good news is organics like that are great at holding a bunch of moisture without drowning the plant. The bad news is you'll probably need to do a nitrogen amendment yearly/twice yearly, but nitrogen amendments are cheap, and there's quite a few ways to do it for free like weed tea. Definitely watch some videos on it though, you need to cut it something like 10:1 or 20:1 with water, and because it's coming straight from your soil, there could be soil pathogens that can affect your plants as well. Here is 4lbs box of an all natural dry nitrogen for ~$12, and 4lbs can cover a lot of square footage. it recommends only 1tsp per plant, per month, and there is roughly 360tsp in the box https://www.walmart.com/ip/Down-to-Earth-DTE17807-Organic-Blood-Meal-Fertilizer-Mix-12-0-0-0-5-lb/5169424150
