Hey, I totally understand how you feel and your anxiety. Right before my surgery, which was two weeks ago yeah tomorrow, I was having panic attack attacks. This was a very painful surgery. The worst part is the gas pain, then the worst part was the internal pain I felt from excising the endometriosis, and then the incisions/soreness. Make sure that you have narcotic pain, relief, and that you have enough for up to five days of consistent use. Advocate that you do get narcotic pain relief because in my experience I absolutely needed it. My doctor also prescribed me gabapentin, which is a non-narcotic nerve pain medication and they prescribed me 600 mg tablets of ibuprofen and Tylenol. I took Tylenol every six hours, and in between at the three hour mark, I took Advil 600 mg every six hours. I took my narcotic pain relief every six hours, sometimes every five hours. For the gas pain – I cannot emphasize this enough, you have to get up and you have to walk. Also get the extra extra strength Gas-X, don’t even worry about “more Natural “versions of Gas-X, just get it. Take MiraLAX at least once a day and or stool softener. For me, the constipation hurt internally extremely badly and then dealing with gas on top of it was not worth messing with. I was not able to get out of bed unassisted for four days. I was not able to go downstairs or get myself any food, drinks, coffee. You should tell your partner they should be prepared to feed you all meals, make sure that you stay hydrated, help you stay on top of your medication’s, and that they should be available to help you go to the bathroom and do things like change your pads because you’re probably gonna bleed, and help you walk Here’s a list of products that I bought that I found extremely helpful and would 10 out of 10 recommend. These are not affiliate links. I literally just read all the forums and Facebook pages and got what people told me to get. Get this shoulder heating pad, it’s a non-negotiable. https://a.co/d/00hDWyeE Get the highest strength, gas X possible, also a non-negotiable. https://a.co/d/09wmEypL Get this peppermint tea or something like it. https://a.co/d/03wgAt2Z I got this cart and it’s sitting right by my bed to store all of my extra snacks and things that I just wanna have at fingertip reach. https://a.co/d/0idkQdAz I did not use a wedge pillow, but a bunch of people suggested it, I just have three pillows stacked up in my bed so it’s working well for me I would suggest asking for postpartum underwear from the hospital, bleeding will definitely happen and it can be quite a lot so I prefer these underwear and a couple it with a pad Definitely get MiraLAX and I got these MiraLAX fast choose for a more active laxative form instead of like stool softener. https://a.co/d/05lBbY8w This is very hydrating and is a nice welcome treat. https://a.co/d/0fovMMZj I also got the sour gummy worms from Trader Joe’s because they have zero sugar and they actually have 15 g of fiber and they’re yummy and it’s like eating candy but it’s fairly healthy Definitely get an ice pack for your abdomen I’m obsessed with these pouches. They’re very convenient and healthy. https://a.co/d/03lBVWXC https://a.co/d/07DuVq46 I did receive an abdominal binder from the hospital because I asked for one, but I took it off as soon as I got home because it made the gas pressure way way way worse and I just needed my abdomen to be able to puff out like it needed to do. And plenty of Tylenol, ibuprofen, and get a nice water bottle next to your bed so you can drink it whenever you need it
