Covid, I bought a couple of Chi-Fi in-ears, some were good, but realized they were all "tinny", "screeching" very high treble basically which gives the impression of "clarity". Then I bought the Audio technica m40x. Decent pair, but very sweaty on the ears. Wasn't as "clear" as I expected it to be. Kind of "muddy" to my ears. Read and watched a lot of reviews on headphones and in-ears, i wanted something that has enough rumbling bass, has smooth highs/treble, and clear mids. Basically "flat" but with a little bit of fun in it when I play pop, edm, futurebass etc. Good for all genres. Anyway, to wrap it up: Went to stores to test more headphones, ended up with an Audio Technica R70x for the headphone, and an Etymotic ER2-XR (this one i did not test personally, just read the reviews and it seemed to match my preferences so I bit the bullet). Never looked back or read any headphone review ever again.
