I really like my [VIOFO](https://a.co/d/0bHN7yCM) This is just a link to one of the options from the brand, but you can set up a good system anywhere from 1-3 cameras without too much hassle. I have my older setup on the upper windshield with a short USB-C -> USB-mini wire right to that little port on the dashboard. I went with the 2-camera package, which connects to this front one with another easy USB-mini wire. You can put the secondary wherever you want, but I took it out because I’m lazy. It can be useful to have a selfie-view, or a back-windshield rear view. I have a clip of me getting rear-ended in a CR-V before upgrading to Big Bend OJ Simpson if you wanna see it hahaha

Buy a Viofo A119 Dashcam, a good SD-card, and either a phone battery bank or a USB wall wart. Completely local system, records only to the SD card and can be reused anywhere you feel a need to have such a camera system - including in your car if so desired.
