memory foam sucks. you sleep hot and having sex in memory foam is the worst since it traps all movement. latex is awesome but it's the most expensive. in a camping situation, i'd use just basic hd36 foam unless money is no issue, then i'd get a 3" latex mattress. i'd probably have them cut it down the middle so it's easier to store, or even in 4s. i just looked it up, LUX-HQ 3" is $72, you need to be over $100 for free shipping so either throw in a pillow, or add a 1" latex topper for $70. Or just get a 2" latex mattress for $130. Latex will be the most firm so I think 2" will be good enough for two average weight people. This is a breathable cover but I personally think the one I settled on from amazon is better, and cheaper: https://www.foambymail.com/product/poly-cotton-knit-cover.html here's the one from amazon, it is breathable and doesn't make any noise https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H71SBC4?th=1 A foam mattress will last 20-30 years and latex lasts 40. hospitals have been using foambymail for decades for all their needs, they have a huge commercial business. that is actually how i found out about them. i have their latex in my home, along with 3" wool mattress toppers and i sleep wonderfully. i have had many guests ask me about my mattress. i know it's dangerous, you shouldn't let guests get too comfortable, but that's how i was raised :) here's where i get my mattress toppers from. when you're not camping you can put it on your bed, it won't be the end of the world that it's not the exact size. i hope this helps!
