You'll need a way to cook too. You can find electric 2-burner stoves on amazon & elsewhere, which we have one of. The problem is you will need a converter to plug into the cigarette lighter, which means running the car (wasting gas $$$) or risk draining the battery. Or you can get a portable battery bank that you charge while driving or at stop points if permitted to charge things and run off of that- but that's more to buy, with unknown accessibility to charging) I'd recommend something non-electric either full-time, or for back up (or the electric 2 burner as back up when it's storming & you don't have a tent/shelter) Mini bbq is cheep- but you have to buy briquettes and starter fluid- may not always have the $$$ If you search for "camping stove" on amazon, you can find ones that fuel with butane (again, have to buy), or search for "wood burning camping stove"- wood is almost everywhere, and most of them will let you burn straw, pinecones, dry leaves, natural fibers like cotton, etc- anything dry and flammable. You can keep a tote filled with dried fuel material you scavenge for bad pain days, or when you can't find any. This Store sells a style that can cook two pots/pans or food and boil water at the same time. But it's only for outdoor use as there's no smoke stack/pipes to exhaust the smoke: https://www.amazon.com/stores/LEMVUZ-Lightluxuryoutdoor/page/93D2639E-193B-4CC2-8193-8F77E0CC2E3A?lp_asin=B0FWBGNYG4&ref_=cm_sw_r_apann_ast_store_VPJYXA00M6XWT23W5BQ5&store_ref=bl_ast_dp_brandlogo_sto I have one like this, with the 90° bend piece for the stove pipe- very useful depending on style of the fire tent (where they put the jack for extending the pipe out of the tent), or even inside shelters with a window (I do not suggest using it in the car because there's no flat surfaces that you can clear anything flammable away from; but I once used it in our house when it was smashed by a duracho, local motels were full and given the storm damage I didn't care about cutting a hole in the window screen; it was places ontop of the counter, with everything moved away from it, and a fire mat laid out just in case. Anyway, mine looks like this: https://a.co/d/01CKnuDW It folds up into a small box shape (sort of like a lunchbox?) and all the pipe pieces store inside it. The grill "wings" are good for keeping food warm but not cooking, or drying mittens, socks etc on. There's many other models out there, some fold completely flat (no pipe, just outdoor only, but unbeatable for space saving) If you get a tent, get a fire-tent so you can use a camping stove with pipe stack to cook in privacy, and warm it up inside on cold nights. You can also get a fan like this:https://a.co/d/08ViLVBd search, I'm sure there are cheaper ones. No electricity needed... when the stove warms up, the hot air powers the fan, and circulated the warm air thru the tent (and thru the vehicle if its one of those tends that can connect to the back of the vehicle! Oh, and get some heavy black-out fabric to make curtains, both for privacy, and to help keep out the heat/cold so you're not running the engine too often to stay comfortable.
