i clean my babies every day. i get a little vacuum (preferably a silent one) and vacuum up all their little poops and uneaten hay, take out all their hide outs so i can get all the nooks and crannies, then spray the whole thing down with a cage friendly odor killer! (including any fabric hide outs they have.) then, at least once a week, i take out the fleece and properly wash it, wash the bottom of the cage, and deep clean all of their hide outs. they usually don't smell as long as i can keep it up my schedule. here's the odor killer i use, it's small animal safe and i can attest for it since i've used it for as long as i've owned piggies. if you aren't comfortable or don't have the money for it though, you could use a scentless laundry detergent mixed with water, or a vinegar solution.
